George Parish, former Horton Hospital campaigner, presented with Labour Party merit award

Last weekend (28/2/15), former Councillor George Parish was presented with a Merit Award by Labour Councillors Mark Cherry and Sean Woodcock, for lifetime achievement in his work for the Labour Party and his local community including leading the Save the Horton campaign for many years.

The award comes from Labour Party HQ and is signed by party leader Ed Miliband.

Councillor Mark Cherry said, “We really miss George on the Council and we wish him and his family well for the future”.

Councillor Sean Woodcock said, “George was an inspiration to us all in his campaign to save services at the Horton Hospital, and this award is yet further public recognition of his life-long dedication to serving the people of Banbury.”
