Tory membership has almost halved to 134,000 since David Cameron became leader in 2005

Conservative Rosette copyA recent article in The Telegraph (October 2013) by Political Correspondent, Peter Dominiczak, reports that many local Tory Associations are rapidly losing members, whilst UKIP have increased theirs from 15,535 in 2010 to 30,780 today. Tory fund-raising efforts, which have traditionally put Labour in the shade have hit rock bottom in some local Associations.

Banbury Labour Party has sustained, and slightly increased membership levels, and our fundraising has gone from strength to strength.  We have an active membership and a group of supporters dedicated to increasing Labour’s presence as councillors in District, Town and County.
