Labour candidate Sue Christie came second behind the Tories in the Adderbury, Bloxham and Bodicote by-election and relegated the Greens into third place.
But second place represents real progress. At the all-out local election in May 2016, the Greens came second in this ward. Their highest-scoring candidate was 129 votes ahead of Sue Christie who was Labour’s highest-scoring candidate. This time, Sue beat the Green candidate by 8 votes.
So many congratulations to Sue Christie and to Anne Davis who organised the Labour campaign, and many thanks to all the Labour Party members from the Villages Branch and Banbury Town Branch who canvassed and delivered leaflets.
