In a letter to the Banbury Guardian (2 Jan 2014) Banbury Labour Councillor Sean Woodcock said, “The decision of India’s Supreme Court to re-criminalise relations between same-sex couples is a reminder of how far there is still to go in the war to end discrimination on the grounds of sexuality.   The move means that people could face up to 10 years in jail.”

Banbury’s MP Tony Baldry, in his role as Second Church Estates Commissioner, is on the record as opposing same-sex marriage, but Sean Woodcock believes he should use his influence to help end global discrimination against gay people.
